Historical aspects in development of traditional sports and games in context of world culture heritage


The conference has been held on October 10th 2007 under Unesco patronage as a part of II World Green Festival on Traditional Wrestling Sport and Games, which dedicated to mention 450 years. 16 Countries participated in the conference. France, Pakistan, Sweden, Kobe, Nigger, RSI, Israel, Cameron, Uganda, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Scotland, Germany, Iceland, Cote D'Ivore, Uzbekistan.

Regulation The program of the conference included: General session and parallel working group. Round table of Sport Ministers, press conference and official closing ceremony.

General meeting The general meeting opened with the speech of Mr. Gorulev P. Rector university for PE and sport of Bashkortostan. Mr. Dally M., UNESCO specialist presented UNESCO vision on TSG (Traditional Sport and Games). Osvaldo Vento Montiler Deputy Minister of Sport from Cuba, Bubkar Genda Syido – President of Union Central and Western African Countries, Mayer Niamey, Capital of Niger; Rif Gaynanov, President of IATWS (International Association of Traditional Wrestling Sports) and Samorodov Vladimir, Minster of Physical Education Sports and Tourism of Bashkortostan who announced the official opening of the conference. In parallel working groups 8 reports were presented.


Working group In parallel working groups 8 reports were presented. Subjects like the History of Development of Wrestling, the methodology of preparing sportsmen in Traditional Wrestling Style.


Round table The round table was also dedicated to the problem of developing Traditional Wrestling Sports and to developing population sport and physical education too.

According to the meetings' protocol, a resolution. has been accepted in which participated conference highlighted the importance of the educational and historical aspects of developing and promoting Traditional Sports and Games in a national and international level.

A special highlight was given to the subject of budgeting the governmental resources in order to create the optimal conditions to achieve the goals in this area.

A decision has been made, that in order to promote the Traditional Sport, there must be a cooperation in all the sectors (governmental, privet, educational, professional sport) the cooperation must be accusable concrete.

In addition, a project must be developed as a part of local politic in the area of promoting and developing Traditional Sports. This project should be able to present this type of sports as a part of the cultural heritage.

A proposal to build an international museum as a gesture to power and future development of mutual respect of traditions and cultures of different nations came up.

According to the conference's summary a collection of the conference?s programs which includes 26 articles was published. Also, there is a plan to publish the program of the general meeting and round table which includes publication of the summaries and the decisions that was made.
